There is homework assigned in every competitive class!

You are expected to practice at home at least 3 times per week, 2 to 4 sessions per day. A session consists of 5 to 10 minutes or in the case of a puppy, 2 minute sessions.

In beginning levels you will be required to purchase air balance discs and make or buy Buja boards. You will also be required to crate your dog between exercises. Intermediate classes require that you  purchase or make a practice contact board, 8 jumps, a tunnel, and weave poles.

Everything does not need to be acquired ahead of time. We give you plenty of time to make or purchase training items as they are needed along your agility journey!

Please keep your dog on leash when not performing an exercise. If you are talking to the instructor during your turn, keep your hand in your dog’s collar; DO NOT let your dog wander off while you talk. Be aware of what your dog is doing at ALL times. Do not turn your back on your dog at any time.

JammerSessions are on-going (self renewing) and the best way to make progress is to continue taking lessons session after session. Many teams also take private lessons to address specific issues that are particular to their team. Once you have reached a certain level, you may want to inquire about taking 2 lessons per week to make even more progress.

Please be courteous, if you arrive late for class do not walk in on the middle of an exercise. You must wait until the start of a new exercise to join in.

If you miss a class, we suggest you contact one of your fellow classmates for the homework for that week. There are no make-ups for classes that you miss. However, you may wish to book a private lesson to bring yourself up to date. Contact your instructor directly regarding this option.

KindleDrop-ins are at the discretion of your instructor. Typically it may be that you want extra practice before an upcoming trial. You must secure approval for a drop-in lesson in advance.

If you are absent for long periods, Momentum Dog Sports reserves the right to move you to a lower level class or drop you from their roster.

If you wish to hold your “spot” in classes when anticipating a long absence, you must submit payment as usual, just like you were attending classes.

If you need to miss quite few classes, you may want to take yourself off the active roll for a period of time and email us when you are ready to start back in class. We will try to put you in the same class but there are no guarantees.
